RTRS: S.Africa September net reserves up at $33.638 bln
JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - South Africa's net gold and foreign exchange reserves increased to $33.638 billion at the end of September from $33.5 billion in August, on a rise in gold reserves and fall in loans, central bank data showed on Tuesday.
Gross reserves rose to $34.424 billion in September from $34.332 billion, the bank said in a statement posted on its Web site.
Net foreign currency holdings decreased by $137 million to $30.865 billion, while gold reserves rose by $229 to $3.559 billion and foreign loans held fell by $104 million to $792 million.
