STOCKS ----------------------- The 30-share BSE index ended down 0.90 percent at 11,695.24 points and the 50-share NSE index up 0.12 percent at 3,606.60 points, helped by domestic institutional buying but sentiment was weak after funding worries emerged in British banks. GOVERNMENT BONDS ---------------------------------------------- The 2018 bond yield at 8.07 percent, up from the morning's 7.95 percent, on concern fresh debt sales would drain cash released by the 50 basis point cut in cash reserve requirements announced late on Monday. RUPEE -------------- The rupee at 47.84/85, down from previous close of 47.80/81, weighed by stronger dollar overseas and shaky local stocks increased worries about foreign fund outflows. It fell to as low as 48.17, its weakest since December 2002. INTEREST RATE SWAPS INROIS ---------------------------- The benchmark five-year interest rate swap at 7.51/7.57 percent. CALL MONEY -------------------- Call money rate at 9.00/9.50 percent, from previous close of 11.00/11.25, helped by improved cash conditions and lower demand for funds in the second half of the fortnight. GOLD <0#MAU:> ------------- The December contract on the Multi Commodity Exchange of India at 13,485 rupees, up 149 rupees from the previous close.
