AFX: Gold slides as equity rout sparks commodities sell-off
 
Oct 10 (Reuters) - * Gold falls to $889.10/892.10 from $911.50 in late New

York trade on Thursday.

* Bullion slides 2 percent as turmoil on the U.S. and European

equity markets sparks a broad-based sell-off of commodities.

* Silver slips to $11.55/11.52 from $12.01 in late New

York trade on Thursday.

* Platinum tumbles to $986.50/1,010.50 from $1,018.50.

* Palladium dips to $188/198 from $198.
