| U.S. stocks opened higher in light pre-holiday trade Wednesday, after consumer spending and durable goods data for November came in better than expected. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 38 points, or 0.5%, to 8,456. The S&P 500 rose 1 point, or 0.2%, to 864, while the Nasdaq Composite ell 1.4 points, or 0.1%, to 1,519. |
