GOVERNMENT BONDS -------------------------------
The 2018 bond yield unchanged from Friday's close of 5.61
percent, as investors stayed on the sidelines in thin year-end
trading, with hopes for a rate cut supporting bond prices.
RUPEE --------------
The rupee at 48.72/75 per dollar, compared to Friday's
close of 48.44/45, as weakness in local stocks fuelled concerns
of further capital outflows.
INTEREST RATE SWAPS INROIS

Benchmark five-year swap rate almost steady at 4.79/4.89
percent, compared with Friday's close of 4.83/4.92 percent.
CALL MONEY --------------------
Call money rate at 5.50/5.60 percent, from Friday's close
of 5.10/5.30 percent, as banks secure their funding
requirements ahead of the year-end, but rates are unlikely to
rise above 6 percent.

The February contract MAUG9 on the Multi Commodity
Exchange of India at 13,788 rupees, up 396 rupees from the
previous close.
