ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Gasoline prices in New Mexico increased by 6 cents to a statewide average of $2.62 a gallon during the last week as world oil prices rose.
AAA-New Mexico said the state's average price per gallon is 1 cent above the national average and 6 cents higher than a week ago.
Of the three metro areas measured, drivers in Las Cruces are paying the lowest amount in the state at an average of $2.58 a gallon. Santa Fe has the most expensive gas at $2.62 per gallon.
A year ago, New Mexicans were paying an average of $3.90 for a gallon of gas.
