LONDON (MarketWatch) -- European shares moved lower for the first time in three sessions on Monday, with losses for the auto sector weighing. Daimler (DE:DAI 33.70, +1.23, +3.79%) shares fell 2.7% after the German car giant was downgraded at Morgan Stanley, while Volkswagen (DE:VOW 251.35, +12.05, +5.04%) shares declined 2.9% and Renault (FR:RNO 32.80, -0.66, -1.97%) shares fell 2.2%. The U.K. FTSE 100 index lost 0.8% to 4,696.08, the German DAX index declined 0.8% to 5,414.92 and the French CAC-40 index fell 0.8% to 3,491.39.
