NEW YORK (MarketWatch) - U.S. stocks on Friday kicked off higher towards weekly gains, with energy stocks lifted as the price of crude hit highs for the year above $74 a barrel. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (INDU 9,409, +58.64, +0.63%) rose 45.49 points, or 0.5%, to 9,395.54. The S&P 500 Index (SPX 1,015, +7.17, +0.71%) added 6.62 points, or 0.7%, to 1,013.99. The Nasdaq Composite (COMP 2,000, +10.56, +0.53%) advanced 11.54 points, or 0.6%, to 2,000.76.
