M W : Energy stocks rise despite weak natural gas prices
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Shares of natural gas producers rose Friday with the broad market, as bullish sentiment over the economy lifted energy stocks despite a seven-year low for natural gas prices. The NYSE Arca Natural Gas Index (XNG 461.76, +1.28, +0.28%) rose 0.8% to 464. The NYSE Arca Oil Index (XOI 963.87, +5.61, +0.59%) rose 1.7% to 974. The Philadelpia Oil Service Index (OSX 177.86, +3.98, +2.29%) rose 1.9% to 177. Oil prices touched their highest levels of the year, trading near $74 a barrel
