FX : U.S. markets open with gains ahead of Bernanke speech; Dollar and Yen, down
FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - U.S. markets have opened Friday's session with gains ahead of Bernanke's speech. Euro
and Pound are trading at intra-week highs.
Dow Jones Index adds 0.56% while the Nasdaq Index advances 0.59%, and the S&P Index trades 0.77% up minutes
after the opening bell.
The focus today is on Bernanke's speech at the Kansas city Federal Reserve Bank's annual meeting in Jackson Hole, Wyo. due at 14:00 GMT.
Dollar and Yen drop to week lows
EUR/USD has rallied from 1.4210 low, ahead of the European session opening, to reach 1.4350 high ahead of the
U.S. session opening. The Euro trades now around 1.4330.
GBP/USD has soared from 1.6420 low to reach intra-day high levels at 1.6595 right ahead of Wall Street opening, approaching to 1.6610 intraweek high.
USD/JPY recovery from 93.45 l3-week low has been short lived, and the pair has turned down from 94.00 to test 93.45 low at the moment of writing.
