MW : Dollar down slightly as home prices rise in June
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- The dollar lost a bit of steam early Tuesday, after a report that showed U.S. home prices rose 1.4% in June. Standard & Poor's Case-Shiller home price index also showed home prices fell 15.4% in the year through June, but that was better than the 17.1% drop in the 12 months through May. The dollar index (DXY 78.04, -0.23, -0.30%) , which measures the U.S. unit against a basket of six major currencies, stood at 77.987, compared with 78.039 ahead of the data.
