MW : kinder Morgan buys natural-gas treatment plants
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Kinder Morgan Energy Partners L.P. (KMP 52.53, -0.09, -0.17%) said Monday that it has entered into a purchase and sales agreement to acquire the natural gas treating business from Crosstex Energy L.P. (XTEX 3.52, -0.18, -4.86%) and Crosstex Energy Inc. (XTXI 3.77, -0.06, -1.57%) for approximately $266 million, including working capital, subject to certain closing adjustments. KMP is purchasing approximately 290 amine-treating and dew-point control plants predominantly located in Texas and Louisiana, with additional facilities in Mississippi, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Kansas.
