MW : Gold futures climb near $1,018 an ounce on Globex
TOKYO (MarketWatch) -- The December contract for gold futures climbed as high as $1,017.80 an ounce Wednesday in electronic trading on Globex. By late afternoon in Tokyo, it had eased slightly to trade up $9.10, or 0.9%, at $1,015.40. "Gold prices gained some ground above the $1,000 mark on the back of the weaker U.S. dollar," analysts at Credit Suisse wrote in a research note issued Wednesday in Asia.
