MUMBAI: India's gold imports in September were around 35-40 tonnes provisionally, compared to 54 tonnes a year ago, the head of Bombay Bullion Association (BBA) said on Wednesday. "Imports have improved (from August) for Diwali but no way close to last year," said Suresh Hundia, president of the BBA told Reuters. Diwali, a festival when people normally buy gold, falls in October this year.
