MW: Dollar stays down as ADP says 254,000 jobs lost
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- The U.S. dollar remained lower on Wednesday after ADP Employment Services said private payrolls fell 254,000 in September, compared to a revised 277,000 loss in August that was less than previously stated. The dollar index (DXY 76.63, -0.49, -0.64%) , a measure of the greenback against a trade-weighted basket of currencies, fell to 76.698 from 77.085 in North American trade late Tuesday. The report comes two days before the government's closely-watched monthly jobs report.
