MW: U.S. stock futures retain modest losses after data
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stock futures on Thursday remained lower after the government reported jobless claims rose to 551,000 last week, while personal income and spending also climbed in August. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 46 points to 9,607.00. Those for the S&P 500 Index shed 6.50 points to 1,046.40, while Nasdaq 100 futures were off 10.25 points to 1,707.25.
