NEW YORK, Oct 12 (Reuters) - The U.S. dollar surrendered gains and fell to a session low against the yen on Monday in light trading amid general dollar weakness on the day.
The dollar was last down 0.2 percent against the yen at 89.66 yen JPY=, well off the session peak of 90.46 yen. The euro was last up 0.5 percent against the dollar at $1.4803 EUR=. (Reporting by Nick Olivari; Editing by Theodore d'Afflisio)
