RTRS: Mexico copper output falls in August, silver up
MEXICO CITY, Oct 30 (Reuters) - Mexican copper output fell to 18,465 tonnes in August, down 14.4 percent from the same month a year earlier, the National Statistics Institute said on Friday.
Silver production increased to 257,671 kg in August, up 23.5 percent compared with a year ago, the institute said.
Copper output in Mexico has been hit by a more than two-year long strike at the Cananea mine owned by Grupo Mexico (GMEXICOB.MX), the country's largest.
