The world price of gold has reached a record high of US$1,140 per ounce, driving the domestic price of gold up by VND350,000 per tael.
By opening time on November 17, gold in Asian markets stood at US$1,140.13 per ounce, the highest level so far, and is now being transacted at US$1,138-1,140 per ounce.
In the domestic market the same day, gold prices rose by VND350,000/tael against transactions on November 16.
Sai Gon Jewelry Company listed SJC gold at VND26.85-27.17 million/tael while at Saigon Thuong Tin bank (Sacombank), SBJ gold was bought at VND26.7-27.20 million/tael.
