LONDON (MarketWatch) -- European shares rose on Monday, after closing lower in the last four sessions, with miners fronting the advance as gold futures strengthened in electronic trading. Elsewhere, Cadbury (UK:CBRY 813.50, +12.55, +1.57%) shares rose 1.3% to 811 pence, after reports that Nestle (CH:NESN 48.36, +0.57, +1.19%) may bid for the chocolate maker. The U.K. FTSE 100 index rose 1.3% to 5,317.11, the German DAX index climbed 1.4% to 5,744.72 and the French CAC-40 index advanced 1.4% to 3,782.19.
