RTTN: Dollar Steady Ahead Of US Durable Goods Orders, Weekly Jobless Claims Reports
(RTTNews) - The U.S. Commerce Department is set to release its durable goods orders report at 8:30 am ET. Economists look forward to a 0.5% increase in durable goods orders for October.
At the same time, the Bureau of Economic Analysis is due to release its personal income & outlays report for October. Economists estimate the report, to show that personal income as well as personal spending rose 0.1% in the month.
The Labor Department is due to release its jobless claims report for the week ended November 21st at 8:30 am ET. Economists expect a slight rise in claims to 500,000.
The greenback halted its recent slide and moved sideways against its major rivals ahead of the key reports. Currently, the dollar is worth 87.47 against the yen, 1.5082 versus the euro, 1.67 per pound and 1.0012 per franc.
