ENM: Silver rises further; gold held steady in thin trade
NEW DELHI: Continuing its upward march, silver prices rose further by Rs 250 to Rs 29,000 per kg in the national capital today on sustained
buying while gold held steady in thin trade.
Buying activity gathered momentum in silver on firming trend in overseas markets but gold that has been on a rising spree remained steady as stockists and retail customers refrained from purchasing at existing higher levels.
Silver climbed 0.9 per cent to $18.65 an ounce in Asian region.
Silver ready strengthened further by Rs 250 to Rs 29,000 per kg and weekly-based delivery by Rs 415 to Rs 28,550 per kg while silver coins remained steady at Rs 34,400 for buying and Rs 34,500 for selling of 100 pieces.
On the other hand, standard gold and ornaments were trading at Rs 17,970 and Rs 17,820 per ten gram respectively. Sovereign inched up by Rs 10 to Rs 14,000 per piece of eight gram.
