LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Banks retook some lost ground in an otherwise muted open for Europe on Thursday, with Credit Agricole (FR:ACA 13.26, +0.17, +1.26%) shares up 1.3% and Lloyds Banking Group (UK:LLOY 55.00, +0.31, +0.57%) up 1.5%. Elsewhere, broker moves lent a helping hand, with Segro (UK:SGRO 336.80, +3.30, +0.99%) shares up 3.5% after UBS upgraded the property developer to buy from neutral. Overall, the U.K. FTSE 100 index rose 0.1% to 5,207.81, the German DAX index advanced 0.1% at 5,655.71 and the French CAC-40 index advanced 0.1% to 3,761.38. |
