Talk over the weekend that the Russian central bank had bought 30 tonnes of Russian gold that was otherwise destined for the open market has ensured that the price has stabilised, up slightly on the session at $1123/oz. More talk from the market is of hedge fund bids at $1080 and Chinese/Indian bids at $1050.
