LONDON (MarketWatch) -- European shares edged higher on Tuesday, up for the fourth straight session, with miners leading the advance as Rio Tinto (UK:RIO 3,176, 0.00, 0.00%) shares rose 1.2% and Antofagasta (UK:ANTO 945.00, 0.00, 0.00%) shares climbed 1.5%. Automakers were also higher, with Peugeot (FR:UG 23.90, +0.15, +0.61%) shares up 1.1%, after data showed European passenger car registrations climbed in November. The U.K. FTSE 100 index rose 0.2% to 5,326.98, the German DAX index climbed 0.4% to 5,826.66 and the French CAC-40 index advanced 0.3% to 3,840.69. |
