BLBG: U.S. Stocks Extend Gain After Home Sales Top Economist Forecasts

Dec. 22 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. stocks extended gains after sales of existing homes rose to the highest level in more than two years, spurring speculation the housing market is gaining strength as the economy recovers.
The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index added 0.4 percent to 1,118.33 at 10:02 a.m. in New York.
