BRK: Indian Rupee weakens, eases towards 47 against US Dollar
New Delhi: Breaking News! The Indian Rupee took a downward turn and inching towards a three-week low on Wednesday. The US Dollar gained significantly, with buyers opting for it in global market. The Rupee fell to 46.80/81 on Tuesday and heading towards 47 against the US Dollar.
Most Asian currencies, including the Rupee, Yen and Yuan recorded losses against the US Dollar. The Indian Rupee touched an intra-day low of 46.86 on Tuesday, and ended at 46.80/81 in the end.
There is a speculation that local importers will step up dollar purchases for settle month-end bills after the greenback touched a 15-week high against all major currencies in the world.
