NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Crude futures stayed higher Tuesday after a report from S&P/Case-Shiller showed home prices in its 20-city index was flat in year through October. February crude futures rose 0.7% to $79.31 a barrel in North American electronic trading. Still to come is a report on consumer confidence. In other commodities, February gold slid 0.1% to $1,106.70 an ounce.
