By Deborah Levine
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Treasury prices gained modestly early Wednesday, sending long-term yields down for a second day, as the government gears up to sell 7-year notes in its last auction of the decade. Yields on benchmark 10-year notes fell 1 basis point to 3.78%. The only economic report of the day will be the Chicago purchasing managers index at 9:45 a.m. Eastern time, which measures business activity in the region. Yields on 2-year notes [ust2yr] fell 4 basis points to 1.07%.
