WEST PALM BEACH, FL -- Higher crude oil prices are helping to pump up South Florida gas prices. In overnight trading, NYMEX Crude OIl contracts for February were over $80 a barrel.
The WPTV NewsChannel 5 "Pump Patrol" found several local gas stations raised prices by as much as 3 cents a gallon over the weekend.
This morning we found prices ranging from $2.69 to $2.99 for regular in Palm Beach County.
Pump prices in Martin, Okeechobee, St. Lucie and Indian River counties are also higher, though many are priced cheaper than those in Palm Beach County because of the lower tax rates.
The Sunoco along 20th Street in Vero Beach is selling regular for $2.59.
