NEW DELHI: Crude oil futures prices rose by 0.52 per cent at the Multi Commodity Exchange today as traders indulged in enlarging their positions
on the back of firming global trend.Crude oil for far-month March contract rose by Rs 20, or 0.52 per cent, to Rs 3,845 per barrel with an open interest of 190 lots.
The oil for delivery in January also edged up by Rs 16, or 0.42 per cent, to Rs 3,782 per barrel in 13,364 lots.
Marketmen said increased buying activity on firming global trend mainly led to rise in crude oil futures prices.
Meanwhile, crude oil for February delivery was higher by 30 cents at USD 81.81 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
