- Centamin Egypt Ltd said it started commercial production and exported its first gold from its flagship Sukari project, a key stage for the miner which operates the only commercial gold mine in Egypt.
- The power operator in Henan province in China has warned local aluminium smelters that its power supplies to the smelters may fall due to local power shortages, smelter officials said today.
- Iran aims to increase oil output to 5.1 million barrels per day (bpd) by 2015 under a five-year national development plan submitted to parliament, the Oil Ministry's website SHANA reported today.
- Non-OPEC producer Oman is on track to boost oil output for the second consecutive year and beat its target for 2009 of around 800,000 barrels per day (bpd), official data showed today.
