U.S. Dollar Moves Lower Overnight
The dollar index has recently broken below the 77.00 area, reaching the lowest value over the last few weeks of trading. It appears the dollar index has formed a swing point following weaker than expected NFP data, released on Friday. Since early December, the currency market has been in long dollar mode, as the U.S. economy showed some signs that it will recover faster than it main counterparts, such as the Euro-area and the U.K.. However, Friday’s NFP data has showed that the recovery is not as strong as had been priced in, forcing the market to re-value the dollar index once again. 2010 had been announced as a year of uncertainty, and it seems that it will follow that path quite easily in January forex trade.
