NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stocks wavered mostly higher on Tuesday, with industrials up the most and utilities weighing, after data showing a 1% rise in pending home sales in December. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (INDU 10,255, +69.68, +0.68%) stood at 10,194.75, up 9.22 points. The S&P 500 Index (SPX 1,097, +7.76, +0.71%) was up 1.5 points at 1,090.69. The Nasdaq Composite (COMP 2,178, +7.01, +0.32%) fell 2.35 points to 2,168.85. |
