NEW YORK, Feb 3 (Reuters) - The dollar extended gains against the yen on Wednesday after data showed the U.S. private sector shed fewer jobs than expected in January. For the data, click on [ID:nWEN9595].
The dollar rose to 90.70 yen JPY= from about 90.61 yen before the data. The dollar was up 0.4 percent on the day against the yen.
The euro last traded at $1.3978 EUR=, down from the $1.3982 it traded at before the report though still up 0.1 percent from the prior New York close. (Reporting by Nick Olivari, Editing by W Simon )
