(RTTNews) - After plunging in early Wednesday Asian deals on disappointing unemployment report, the NZ dollar started moving sideways and extended the same trend in late trading. As of now, the kiwi is worth 63.51 against the yen, 0.6983 against the greenback, 1.2642 against the aussie and 1.9901 against the euro.
Earlier, the kiwi plunged to a new multi-month low against the greenback, 3-day low against the yen, 6-day low against the aussie and an 8-day low against the euro.
Unemployment rate in New Zealand rose to a 10- 1/2 -year high of 7.3% in the fourth quarter of 2009 and the figure was well above the Reserve Bank of New Zealand's forecast of a 6.6% jobless rate for the December quarter.
