Indian rupee edged lower against the greenback in the morning trade on foreign fund outflows from the weak equity markets amid strengthening of the US currency against other units.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index decreased 0.015% to 80.43. It touched a high of 80.51 and a low of 80.32 after opening at 80.43. (23:51ET)
Rupee fell 0.04% against USD to Rs 46.75. (10.15 a.m.). On Friday, the rupee closed higher at 46.73/74.
The Bombay Stock Exchange index Sensex was down over 95 points, or 0.59%, in opening trade Monday.
