RTTN: U.S. Dollar Mixed Against Majors
 
(RTTNews) - The U.S. dollar showed mixed trading against other major currencies, during European deals on Wednesday. The dollar declined against the yen, the franc and the euro. However, the dollar recovered from a 5-day low versus the pound.

Against the Swiss franc, the U.S. dollar declined to 1.0630 at 6:05 am ET. As of now, the greenback is worth 1.0635 against the franc. The greenback-franc pair closed yesterday's New York session at 1.0639.

The U.S. dollar recovered from a 5-day low against the pound. At 6:05 am ET, the greenback soared to 1.5660, up from a low of 1.5767 hit at 5:10 am ET. The pound-greenback pair, which closed yesterday's trading at 1.5721, is now worth 1.5667.

The U.S. dollar showed a downtrend against the 16-nation currency. At 6:15 am ET, the greenback touched a low of 1.3798 versus the euro. The current quote for the euro-greenback pair is 1.3796, compared to yesterday's close of 1.3801.

The currency of U.S. lost ground against its Japanese counterpart. The greenback hit a low of 89.67 at 6:15 am ET. At present, the greenback-yen pair is trading at 89.66, down from Tuesday's close of 89.73.

The U.S. trade balance report for December is slated for release at 8:30 am ET.
