(RTTNews) - During European session on Monday, the U.S. dollar declined against the franc, the pound and the yen. However, the greenback recovered its recent losses against the euro.
The U.S. dollar declined against the currency of Switzerland during European trading on Monday. At 7:00 am ET, the dollar drifted lower to 1.0757 against the franc. The greenback-franc pair is now trading near Friday's close of 1.0767.
Against the pound, the U.S. dollar drifted lower to 1.5723 at 7:00 am ET. As of now, the pound-greenback pair is worth 1.5703, compared to Friday's close of 1.5710.
The U.S. dollar recovered its recent losses against the 16-nation currency. The dollar climbed to 1.3619 at 7:20 am ET, rising from 1.3632 hit earlier. The euro-greenback pair is now trading near Friday's New York session close of 1.3623.
The U.S. dollar lost ground against its Japanese rival. At 7:00 am ET, the dollar hit a low of 89.94 versus the Japanese currency. At present, the greenback-yen pair is trading at 89.97, compared to Friday's close of 90.06.
The U.S. financial markets are closed today in observance of Presidents Day.
