NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Crude oil and gold futures stayed higher in morning trade Wednesday, after reports showed U.S. housing starts jumped 2.8% and import prices rose in January. Crude oil for March delivery was last up 27 cents, or 0.4%, at $77.29 a barrel. Gold for April delivery was last up $1.10 at $1,120.90 an ounce.
