MW: Gold, oil futures stay lower after inflation data

FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) -- Gold and oil futures continued to trade lower on Friday after data showed that the U.S. consumer price index rose a seasonally adjusted 0.2% in January for the fifth straight month. Gold for April delivery fell $7.50 to $1,111.20 an ounce in electronic trading on Globex. Oil futures for March delivery dropped 36 cents to $78.70 a barrel.
