MW: Gold down 4th day as dollar rises

By Deborah Levine, MarketWatch
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Gold prices declined for a fourth straight day Thursday as the U.S. dollar rose versus the euro, while renewed concerns about Greece's ability to rein in its deficit increased the appeal of the greenback, including versus gold.

Gold for April delivery fell $3.80, or 0.3%, to $1,093.40 an ounce.

"The weak euro is weighing on gold and silver this morning and for the moment gold is looking vulnerable to a deeper correction as sentiment has turned more bearish," said analysts at Bullion Desk.

The euro traded at $1.3489, down from around $1.3535 in North American trade late Wednesday. See more on currencies.
