NEW YORK, March 2 (UPI) -- Crude oil prices on the New York Mercantile Exchange rose overnight, but held under $80 per barrel, as prices continued to fluctuate in a tight range near $79.
April delivery light, sweet crude added 64 cents to $79.34 per barrel, as the dollar index showed a slight decline Tuesday morning, down 0.04 percent.
Heating oil prices added 0.0215 cents to $2.045 per gallon. Reformulated gasoline prices added 0.0279 cents to $2.1835 per gallon. Natural gas prices gained 0.048 cents to $4.727 per million British thermal units.
At the pump, the national average price of unleaded gasoline was $2.703 per gallon Tuesday, down from Monday's $2.705, AAA said.
