Copper futures prices fell as traders booked profits after yesterday`s gains amid weak trend at the London Metal Exchange.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for June contract declined by Rs 1.45, or 0.42% to Rs 345.90 a kg with an open interest of 1,849 lots.
The metal for delivery in April contract also shed Rs 1.75, or 0.51% to Rs 343.95 a kg in 22,760 lots.
Market analysts said, apart from profit-booking at prevailing levels by speculators, weak trend at the LME also led to fall in copper prices at the futures market. Meanwhile, copper for three-month delivery fell by USD 75 to USD 7,505 a ton at the LME.
