MW: Crude oil, gold lower after jobless, trade data

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Crude oil and gold futures stayed lower on Thursday after the government reported U.S. jobless claims fell by 6,000 in the latest week while the trade deficit unexpectedly narrowed in January. Crude oil for April delivery last fell 34 cents to $81.75 a barrel in electronic trade. Gold for the the same month was down $2 at $1,106.10 an ounce.
