BLBG: U.S. Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index Fell to 72.5 in March

March 12 (Bloomberg) -- The Reuters/University of Michigan preliminary March consumer sentiment index fell to 72.5 from a final reading of 73.6 a month earlier.
Economists projected the sentiment index would increase to 74, according to the median of 68 forecasts in a Bloomberg News survey. Estimates ranged from 71 to 78. The measure averaged 88.8 during the economic expansion from late 2001 until December 2007.
