LONDON (MarketWatch) -- European shares rose in early trading Tuesday, recovering some of the previous session's sharp losses, with miners, oil companies and banks posting early gains. Among individual stocks in focus, Remy Cointreau (FR:RCO 50.75, -1.36, -2.61%) dropped 4.8% in Paris after reporting a drop in profit, Aberdeen Asset Management rose 3% after reporting results for the fiscal year and Germany's ThyssenKrupp (DE:TKA 29.49, -0.45, -1.49%) dropped 1.6% after reporting its fiscal 2010 figures. The U.K.'s FTSE 100 index (UK:UKX 5,579, +27.67, +0.50%) rose 0.8% to 5,596.72, the French CAC 40 index rose 0.5% to 3,655.44 and the German DAX 30 index (DX:DAX 6,762, +63.70, +0.95%) rose 0.6% to 6,739.09. |
