Dec 1 (Reuters) - The euro extended gains to hit the day's highs against the dollar on Wednesday after the results of an auction of Portuguese government bonds saw a higher bid-to-cover ratio but firmer yields. [ID:nLIS002518] The euro rose as far as $1.3106, up 1 percent on the day EUR=. It had hit a 2-1/2 month low of $1.2969 on Tuesday.
