RTTN: Dollar Mixed Ahead Of U.S. CPI, Empire Manufacturing Survey Data
(RTTNews) - The US consumer price index for November is scheduled to be released at 8:30 am ET. The consensus estimates call for a 0.2% increase in the headline consumer price index and a 0.1% rise in the core consumer price index that excludes food and energy.
The market is also looking to the New York Federal Reserve's Empire State Manufacturing Survey for December due at 8:30 ET. Economists expect a reading of 5.00 compared with -11.14 in November.
The US dollar showed mixed trading against its major rivals ahead of the data. While the greenback reversed its recent downtrend against the euro, yen and the Swiss franc it held steady versus the pound.
Currently, the dollar is trading at 1.3360 against the euro, 0.9610 versus the Swiss franc, 83.87 against the yen and 1.5670 against the pound.
