NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Petroleum shares edged up while oil drillers fell on Thursday morning as Wall Street weighed lower oil prices against mildly positive economic data. The NYSE Arca Oil Index (XOI 1,165, +2.06, +0.18%) rose 0.1% to 1,164. The NYSE Arca Natural Gas Index (XNG 583.13, +0.42, +0.07%) traded fractionally higher to 583. The Philadelphia Oil Service Index (OSX 236.31, -2.31, -0.97%) fell 0.2% to 236. U.S.-listed shares of BP PLC (BP 43.97, +0.11, +0.25%) rose 0.3% to $43.99. Crude oil futures fell 0.3% to $88.37.
